Early Life and Education:

Born on September 26, 1941, at Taiping Hospital in the then Federated Malay States, Raja Ja’afar’s early education took place at Anderson School, Ipoh, and Anglo-Chinese School, Teluk Intan. His pursuit of knowledge led him to University Malaya, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, followed by a master’s degree in Public Administration at Cornell University in the United States.

Government Service Expertise:

Raja Ja’afar’s illustrious career is marked by a deep commitment to public administration. His journey began in 1966 at the Perak State Secretariat, where he served in the District & Land Office until 1971. Noteworthy milestones include his role as a management consultant at the Prime Minister’s Office from 1976 to 1979, followed by an appointment as under-secretary at the Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry from 1979 to 1984.

His dedication to national development continued as he assumed the responsibilities of secretary of the Foreign Investment Committee at the Economic Planning Unit and deputy secretary-general (Development and Finance) of the Defence Ministry. Raja Ja’afar concluded his distinguished government service in 1996.

Raja Muda of Perak:

In recognition of his seniority and exceptional contributions, Raja Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Raja Muda Musa was sworn in as the Raja Muda of Perak on July 1, 2014. This prestigious position reflects not only his regal lineage but also his unwavering commitment to the betterment of Perak and its people.
