Scrap lithium-iron phosphate battery - lfp

  • Dramatically reduces the risk of overheating and fire
  • Offers much less volumetric capacity
  • Used in power tools and medical equipment
  • Longer-life and inherently safe
  • Lower Energy Density (95-140) Wh/Kg

  • LFP has low intrinsic value but can still be recycled economically in South East Asia with recovery of copper and aluminium.
  • The opportunity is high because Western recyclers can collect treatment fees of $1800-2300/ton for processing LFP scrap from their upstream. EcoNiLi can pay these recyclers to take the scrap and process them in its operations.
  • Recyclers are being offered large amounts of LFP to process in Europe but there is no enough capacity to process it there. The market is currently worth US$74m and forecast to grow to US$576 m by 2025.
  • South-East Asian recyclers can provide a win-win as valuable downstream partners in processing LFP at economical prices, thus increasing the contract sizes which European recyclers can offer their upstream OEM.
